“On Raglan road on an autumn day I met her first and knew, That her dark hair would weave a snare that I might one day rue...”
To mark the 50th centenary of the death of Ireland’s great poet and literary genius, Patrick Kavanagh, the Irish Cultural Centre welcomes Brian Dooley from ‘The Patrick Kavanagh Centre’, ( in Inniskeen, County Monaghan); who will regale us with tales about Kavanagh, his work, his life and the many characters he met along his enchanted way. Dooley will reveal the true depth of Kavanagh’s awareness of ‘hardship, spirituality and mythology, all of which fed the ‘peasant poet’s’ imagination and left the world much more enriched by his legacy. Simply an evening not to be missed!!
