This exceptional trio are three of Irelands greatest exponents of traditional Irish music: Dermot Byrne, former box player with the internationally acclaimed band ALTAN, gathers with fiddle player Bríd Harper, and the guitarist and singer-songwriter John Doyle.
Dermot Byrne is one of Ireland’s finest trad musicians. He was awarded the Irish Television station, TG4’s ‘Traditional Musician of the Year Award’ (2013.) A former member of ALTAN (1994 – 2013,) he has collaborated with some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Sharon Shannon, Steve Cooney, Pierre Schryer, Tim O’Brien and the late jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli.
Bríd Harper hails from County Donegal, who has been hailed as one of the leading Irish fiddle players of our time. She has won numerous All Ireland Champion titles, as well as two of Ireland’s most prestigious music accolades, the Senior All Ireland Champion, Oireachtas na Gaeilge Award and the Fiddler of Dooney Award. For the past couple of years she has been performing with great musicians including Dermot Byrne , Steeve Cooney, PJ McDonald and many others.
Originally from Dublin, John Doyle is an acclaimed musician, singer and songwriter, who is renowned for playing the guitar left-handed and has a very distinctive style. For several decades John has resided in the USA, where he is a leading member of the globally revered, Irish-American band ‘Solas’. John is also a featured regularly on the popular TV programme the “Transatlantic Sessions”. John has recorded and toured with many great musicians, Kate Rusby, Susan Mc Keown, Karan Casey, Michael Mc Goldrick, Liz Carroll and Eileen Ivers to name but a few.
