Poetry: Ciaran Carson – The Bard of Belfast

Poetry: Ciaran Carson - The Bard of Belfast

2019 saw the loss of one of Ireland's most influential and celebrated writers, Ciaran Carson. A prolific poet, author, translator, and traditional musician, Carson's work captured the nuanced and ever-shifting face of his beloved Belfast and the many characters and stories residing there. On this course, poet and playwright, Nathaniel McAuley will guide you through a close exploration of a selection of Carson's expansive collection of poetry addressing Belfast and the troubled history it encapsulates.
