‘Passers By’ by Seamus McGarry

‘On my one and only visit to Bally Bunion in the early 60s I was fortunate to have snapped what I thought were two interesting photographs. ‘In My Father’s Time’, which you saw last week, and this photograph, ‘Passers By’. I first spotted the nun walking alone in the distance along the pathway. I changed the lens to a 300m Zoom. As I was waiting to get closer the man walked into the shot from the left. My intention at that point was to get a photograph of a conversation between the two. As it happened I hit the shutter early which was lucky as the pair completely ignored one another as they passed by.’ Seamus McGarry
