To brighten up your day here is the beautiful new single Newcomer from fiddle player and composer Gráinne Brady. It’s the title track from her forthcoming solo album. Gráinne composed and arranged the tunes for the album, having been inspired by the writings and words of the Donegal Writer Patrick McGill, whose novels include The Great Hunger and The Rat Pit, from which the words here come from.
Produced and engineered by musician and composer Mike Vass, the album boasts a plethora of musicians prominent in the Scottish folk scene. Featured on this track along with Gráinne on fiddle are Tina Jordan Rees (flute), Michael Biggins (piano), Innes White (guitar), Christine MacGinley (French horn), Seonaid Aitken (violin), Sarah Leonard (viola), Su-a Lee (cello), and Jack Houston (speaking the words of Patrick McGill).
