Music: Trailer – Tad Sargent, Michael Sweeney and Mick O Connor – 'P Stands for Paddy'
Only two days to go before the launch of “The ICC Seisiúns”, our series of 14 unplugged Irish music concerts recently recorded at the ICC and starring many of London’s great Irish musicians and artists.
On Friday September 11th, to kick off ‘The ICC Seisiúns’ we will bring you the first film in the series featuring three exceptional musicians who so many of you who come to our fabulous Friday night music sessions will know and love so well!
Yes it’s the wonderful guitar and bodhran player Tad Sargent, the brilliant fiddle player Michael Sweeney and the legendary banjo player Mick O’ Connor, in concert and in conversation! Here is a sneak preview of the film, in which Tad sings his heart-warming version of the song ‘P stands for Paddy'. Get ready to watch the whole of this concert on Friday and if you come to the session and play an instrument get it out and play along!
The purpose of this project is to shine a spotlight on London’s Irish musicians, who over the past 25 years have played at the ICC and have helped to make it ‘The Home of Irish Culture’. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, we have been profoundly mindful that so many of our local musicians have lost their livelihoods – and so as a way of reaching out to them, thanks to The Embassy of Ireland, GB and Ireland’s Department for Foreign Affairs we were able to produce this unique film series.
