Artist’s Corner: Ger Holland

Today in ICC Digital’s ARTISTS CORNER, especially for those of you who are missing getting home to Ireland and seeing Ireland’s beautiful hot summer sunrises, we are delighted to bring you the first of four images of Irish Sunrises from the Gallery of the Dublin based Photographer Ger Holland.

Today’s photograph ‘Fisherman On the West Pier’ was the front page, cover image in Ireland’s National Newspaper, The Irish Independent in April 2021.

About her photograph Ger says:

“Photographing the sun rising behind the lighthouse on the West Pier in Dún Laoghaire had become a recent goal of mine. On only my second visit to the pier for sunrise, I was thrilled to see a fisherman setting up next to the lighthouse. I just knew if the sun rose clear of the clouds, I would be able to capture a beautiful image, but on that morning, I never dreamed for it to work out the way it did – even if I’d tried”.
