Press Release: ICC's Glor Nua gains ACE support.

The Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith is delighted to announce that its monthly evening of live music, celebrating new emerging artists from London & Ireland, has gained support from Arts Council England.

Over the next 10 months, the ICC will produce 10 funded concerts featuring new acts each month. It will also offer training to upcoming technicians in the music industry, freelancer photographers and videographers to grow their professional portfolios.

Centre Director, William Foote, comments: “It’s wonderful to have gained this support from Arts Council England for emerging talent. It’s so important to give upcoming acts a stage to create and express themselves.”

Event Officer and host, Ruby Kearney says: “To receive this award is incredible, as it means we can plan almost a year ahead and form a night that attracts, promotes and offers work to many upcoming artists.”

Chair of the ICC, Peter Power-Hynes, remarked: “It’s another wonderful achievement by all here at the ICC. To continue to develop a programme that attracts such a following. To have the recognition of Arts Council England is a major achievement of which the staff should be extremely proud. The ICC will continue to flourish as the UK’s premiere Irish Arts, Culture and Heritage Centre.”

About Glor Nua:

Glór Nua: Next Generation Music - Is hosted by singer/songwriter and Poet, Ruby K.

Glór Nua roughly translates as New Voices in Irish Gaelic, and will provide a platform for a variety of new artists to perform and be discovered, alongside live performances from more established acts from London and the island of Ireland, creating a night of musical connections. We aim to unite talented contemporary musical artists and immerse audiences in the sounds that keep the city and the emerald isle moving and grooving.

Glór Nua is open to acts from all music genres, cultures and backgrounds, celebrating diverse styles and personalities. We know that people and musical self expression comes in all shapes and sizes and can’t always be put in a box, so why would we? Instead, we want to put it on stage at the ICC.

If you are a music artist and would like to perform on one of the nights, or you have any suggestions of Artists you think will be interested, please get in touch by emailing [email protected].

The ICC is located at 5 Black’s Road, Hammersmith W6 9DL, across the road from Hammersmith Tube and Bus Stations (Piccadilly, District, Hammersmith & City and Circle Lines).
