Accessibility at the Irish Cultural Centre

The Irish Cultural Centre (ICC) is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and accessible environment for all visitors. We aim to ensure that everyone can enjoy our cultural events, classes, community activities and private hire spaces.

Our building has been designed to be modern, comfortable and accessible, with step-free access and facilities to support visitors with mobility needs.

Building Access

The Irish Cultural Centre is a modern, fully accessible building located in Hammersmith,
just a short walk from Hammersmith Underground and bus station.

Accessibility features include:

• Step-free access to the building entrance
• Wheelchair access throughout the main public areas
• Accessible toilet facilities
• Lift access between floors
• Air-conditioned spaces with natural light
• Staff available to assist visitors where required

Accessible Rooms and Spaces

The ICC offers several rooms used for events, meetings, classes and performances.
These spaces are accessible and adaptable depending on the event layout.

Ground Floor: Main Hall and Bar area

Our largest venue, hosting concerts, talks, film screenings and community events.

• Up to 180 seated capacity
• Ground floor access
• Accessible seating can be arranged
• Induction loop available
• Suitable for performances, lectures and large gatherings

First Floor:

All rooms are accessible by lift and further accessible toilets are on the first floor.

The Mezzanine

A flexible space often used for classes, workshops and receptions.

• Capacity up to 80 theatre style
• Lift access available
• Suitable for training sessions, talks and community events

ICC Library (Meeting Room 1)

A quiet meeting and research space within our Irish library.

• Boardroom layout for up to 18 people
• Suitable for meetings, reading groups and workshops

Meeting Room 2

A mid-sized meeting room for smaller events.

• Boardroom layout up to 22 people
• Ideal for training sessions and meetings

Joe O’Donovan Room (Meeting Room 3)

A small, bright meeting space.

• Capacity up to 10 people
• Suitable for small meetings, interviews or tutorials

Assistance During Events

If you are attending an event at the Centre and require assistance (such as accessible seating, step-free access, or help moving around the building), please contact us in advance where possible so we can make appropriate arrangements.
