About Andy Irvine

Andy Irvine is nothing short of a legend in Irish folk music. With a career spanning over 55 years, his voice and artistry have been hailed as a “tradition in himself.” From his groundbreaking work with Planxty, Sweeney’s Men, Patrick Street and Usher’s Island, to collaborations with artists across the globe, Irvine’s music resonates deeply with audiences.

In this special performance, Irvine brings his celebrated skill as a storyteller and multi-instrumentalist (bouzouki, mandola, and vocals) to the stage, delivering tales of emigration, love, and adventure with unparalleled emotional depth.

About Quilty

Sweden’s Quilty has long been recognised as the leading interpreter of Irish traditional music in Scandinavia. Known for their masterful arrangements and heartfelt performances, Quilty’s musicians—Dag Westling (guitar, banjo, whistle, vocals), Gideon Andersson (bouzouki, mandolin, bodhrán, vocals), Esbjörn Hazelius (fiddle, guitar, vocals), and Staffan Lindfors (double bass)—bring a dynamic energy to every performance.  In 2020 Quilty was nominated Band of the Year at the National Folk & World Music Gala event.

Their collaboration with Andy Irvine, which began with a sold-out tour of Sweden in 2023, adds a fresh dimension to their music, blending Irish and Swedish traditions with stunning effect.
