To celebrate 25 years of great Irish Ballet
Cork City Ballet is off to London for the UK premiere of ‘Breaking Pointe’ on Friday 20thSeptember at 8pm in the Irish Cultural Centre in hammersmith, to celebrate the company’s 25 years in existence.
This film, which had its Irish premiere at Cork Opera House last September to a full house, shows spectacular footage of the dancers in the company and provides direct access to behind the scenes to see up close the rarely seen aspects of the daily life of a professional dancer.
Excerpts from favourite ballets’ such as ‘The Nutcracker, ‘Giselle’, ‘Le Corsaire’, ‘The Dying Swan’, ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Swan Lake’ (which the company presents at the Cork Opera House in November) feature in this stunning documentary.
Speaking at the recent launch of the UK premiere, the company’s Artistic Director Alan Foley said, ‘we are absolutely delighted to be bringing ‘Breaking Pointe’ to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith in London, and hope this collaboration will create many more opportunities for us in the future.’
A fantastic opportunity for all dance lovers NOT TO BE MISSED.
