Molly O’Mahony:

Molly O’Mahony is a singer-songwriter from West Cork, Ireland.

After graduating in music and English from University College Dublin, she formed art-folk group Mongoose with three college friends. The band have been a fixture of the Irish music scene since their formation in 2012, and have released two albums and two EPS in that time.

Over the course of 2018 & 2019, Mongoose collaborated in making and performing in ‘Woman Undone’, the theatrical retelling of Irish jazz singer Mary Coughlan’s life, which culminated in a joint Irish Times Theatre award nomination for the band with Coughlan and composer Valgeir Sigurdson for ‘Best Sound’ in 2019.

Molly returned to her family home place in West Cork in March of 2020, and against the backdrop of the unfolding pandemic, began work on her debut solo album. The album, due for release in 2022, is supported by the Irish Arts Council. Her debut single Remember To Be Brave, was released in June 2021.

Praise for Mongoose’s sophomore album ‘Suck The Wound’ –

“Chilling, celestial and effortless – the music of Mongoose resonates deep within the soul.” -Sarah Gill, Hot Press. “[The album] is a charming hodgepodge of colour, sound and vibrancy” -Lauren

James Or:

Artist bios are handy, of course; but the best way for anyone to get to know JAMES OR is through his songs.

Since the release of his debut EP, Cold Open, James’ earnest songwriting has been praised for its authenticity and introspectiveness. Earning him numerous plaudits including a place on Hotpress’ ‘Ones to Watch’ listings, his music showcases a versatile artist of unique lyrical wit; always on the lookout for new meaning in the peculiarities of everyday living. Known also for his indefatigable live shows, he has shared stages with countless international acts such as Frank Turner, The Coronas, Gavin James, Twin Atlantic and Grant Lee Philips.

James finished his debut album, All the Beds We’ve Been in, just weeks before the world shut down in March 2020. After working for two years with Choice Prize-nominated producer Christian Best, his plans for a release that summer suddenly looked a little less definite. So, he decided to wait. And in the intervening years, the themes of friendship, isolation, grief, acceptance, and recovery that make up All the Beds We’ve Been in, feel, if anything, more relevant now than ever.

With this latest offering now out into the world, one thing’s clear: there’s no stopping this ‘unique and exciting indie voice’ (Shane Dunne – Indiependence, The Coronas, Sigrid)
