18th September - 7th October
An exhibition of photographs by Ireland’s leading photographer, John Minihan.
John Minihan is one of Ireland’s greatest photographers and undoubtedly one of the world’s best portrait photographers. To mark his 70th birthday, the Irish Cultural Centre proudly presents a unique and brand new exhibition of his photographs celebrating Ireland’s great writers and poets. This exhibition of Minihan’s most recent pictures includes images of Edna O Brien, Thomas Kinsella, John Banville, Martin McDonagh, Colm Toibin, and many more. There will also be a photograph of the poet and President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins. All of Minihan’s photographs have been taken on his ‘Rolliflex’ camera, shot in classic black and white. The photographs at the exhibition will be available for purchase (unframed) during the exhibition period. Each framed photograph, from an original negative, will be stamped and signed by John Minihan.
“Minihan’s gift is to be at once penetrating and discreet, probing and respectful, close-up and impersonal.” —author John Banville.
