Little Gems 2024
Little Gems returns to the ICC on Saturday 2 November with a selection of short one-act plays written by playwrights attending The Play’s the Thing workshop at the Irish Cultural Centre.
Curated by ICC resident playwright, Conor Montague, and produced in collaboration with a talented bunch of London-based actors and directors, Little Gems will showcase an eclectic programme of 10min plays by Geeta Sanker, Kieran Kelliher, Margaret Rochford, Veronica Flanagan, Hugh Muckian, Francis O’Flynn, Judi Bevan, Carolyn Lyster, Radmila Sarac and Sue Olney.
A man fresh out of jail visits his father’s grave in search of closure to discover he has a brother; a woman haunted by her past seeks redemption through art, a visit to a milliner tears siblings apart, a murderer attempts to seduce his landlady, kinky capers leave a husband with a horrible dilemma, a young woman discovers her lover is a cult leader and more. A blend of comedic, tragic, disturbing and provocative, little gems pack a big punch and this annual showcase of emerging playwrights is always a highlight of the ICC programme. Early booking advised.
