Art Exhibition

Silent Seas by John-Michelle O’Shea

The Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool, is delighted to host Silent Seas, a new body of work from photographer John-Michelle O’Shea. The exhibition will be on show at the Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith, from 21st March and will be officially opened during an exclusive preview event on 20th March.

In ‘Silent Seas’ John-Michelle sets out to create meditative, mindful, even spiritual images, encouraging us to enjoy a momentary escape from the pressures and pace of modern hyperreality as we consider the gentle abstraction of the images.

John-Michelle O’Shea is an internationally awarded photographer and Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. He was born in 1973 and lives in rural Warwickshire. His locations for his photography are the rugged coastlines of the Irish Sea and Atlantic Ocean across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.
