About the Album:

‘Seoda Uladh’ (Jewels of Ulster) reimagines lesser-known traditional Ulster songs in both Irish and English, with one song representing each of the nine counties and an additional track” for good luck”. The collection reflects the cultural traditions, history, and shared heritage of Ulster through music, song and story.

Each song begins with a place, a memory, a story, a piece of home and the journeys that reflect and shape us. The handpicked collection highlights how song and story are inextricably linked and can connect us to that place we call home, no matter where we are in the world!

Fans of Cara Dillon, Pauline Scanlon, Ríoghnach Connolly and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh connect with Sinéad’s heartfelt vocal delivery, rich arrangements, and deep connection to place, belonging and tradition.

The project began in 2023 and features some of Ireland’s finest musicians; Seán Óg Graham, Seamie O’Dowd, Cathal Hayden, David Bell, Rory Madden, Colin Henry, Kieran Leonard, Pádraig McGovern, Conor Crimmins and showcases the stunning vocals of: Daniel Donnelly, Karen Kirby, Helen Cassidy and Eva McRory.

Inspired by themes of home, heritage, and the voices that shaped us. Sinead’s hope is that you find some Jewels in the tracks.

About Sinéad Willox

Armagh-born folk singer Sinéad Willox is celebrated for her distinctive voice, unique style, and ability to weave story and song with natural affinity. A winner of multiple All-Ireland Oireachtas titles in duet and trio performance, Sinéad has been singing since childhood and brings both depth and versatility to her craft.

Hailed by Tumble and folk magazine as a “sublime act”! Sinead’s stunning debut album, ‘Seoda Uladh’ – Jewels of Ulster, is a musical map of Ulster, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the province. The album re-imagines lesser-known traditional songs in both English and Irish from each of Ulster’s nine counties, beautifully re-worked and brought to life with fresh contemporary folk arrangements. The handpicked collection is inspired by themes of home, heritage and belonging.

About the Performers

Sinead will be joined on the night by three incredible musicians.

Matt Mancuso

New York born Matt Mancuso is an extraordinary musician. His playing is spirited and exuberant, yet underpinned by deep technical mastery. As a young child, Matt was introduced to Irish Music by his father Pete, a respected guitarist . Matt studied with the renowned musician and teacher Maureen Glynn and with Tony De Marco Matt went on to compete in the prestigious All Ireland competitions.

Matthew has toured the world with Lord of the dance (2002-2005), Europe and U.S. with Grada (2005-2008) The Cathie Ryan band (2006- 2015) Eileen Ivers (2016-2021) The Jeremiah’s (2022-2025) The Murphy & Mancuso band (2025-present) Mathew has also taught Irish traditional fiddle workshops at Irish arts week , St. Louis Tionol , NY Tionol , and all major US festivals and Europe. Since moving to Ireland Matt teaches fiddle at the prestigious Armagh pipers club.

Seamie O’Dowd

Seamie O’Dowd is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who also plays fiddle, harmonica, mandolin, and other instruments. He has toured worldwide, performing and collaborating with artists including Mairtin O’Connor, Cathal Hayden, Christy Moore, Declan Synott, The Chieftains, Jimmy Higgins, Tommy Emmanuel, Dervish, Steve Wickham, Matt Molloy, Liam O’ Flynn, Thom Moore, Dick Gaughan, Cathy Jordan, Rick Epping, Kieran Quinn, John Joe Kelly, Martin Hayes, Dennis Cahill and Cathal Roche.

With a career spanning four decades, his work includes solo performance, session playing, recording production, teaching, and film soundtrack work. He has performed at major venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Lincoln Center, recorded with Dervish, and was nominated for Best Folk Musician at the 2018 RTÉ Irish Folk Awards.

David J Bell

David is a highly skilled and dedicated guitarist with over 40 years experience.
He’s an experienced and versatile session guitarist who can span various musical genres, adapting and improvising to suit other players needs. Several decades of studio and live playing, with well known producers and arrangers has made him a highly sought after player. David has recorded with Keith and Kristyn Getty, the Ulster Orchestra, Oonagh Derby, Niamh McGlinchey, Donna Taggart and Sinéad Willox among many others
