The Irish Creative Collective presents Comhráite – Declan O’Rourke

The Irish Creative Collective presents the second instalment of Comhráite: a dynamic live series of ordinary conversations with extraordinary people.

Few artists wear the title of storyteller as well as singer songwriter and author, Declan O’Rourke.

Beginning with his twice-platinum debut album Since Kyabram through to his immaculately researched trilogy of novels about the Irish Famine, Declan’s work possesses a depth that has seen him become one of Ireland’s best loved songwriters and garner praise from the likes of John Prine, Edith Bowman and Paul Weller.

Now Declan returns to London to speak with fellow Irish musician James Or about what Irish means to him, the ways it has shaped his life and work, and how he fosters his own creativity in today’s attention economy.

The Irish Creative Collective is a grassroots organisation that curates networking, cultural and showcasing events for Irish creatives and artists living in London. Whether you’re Irish-born or connected by heritage, you’re invited to join our thriving community. Comhráite, a 6-part series, is just one component of our exciting 2024 plans, which you can learn more about on Instagram (@irishcreativecollective).

At checkout, you’ll see an option to donate £10 directly to the Collective to help it continue its work of nurturing Irish creativity across the capital. Please don’t feel obliged to select this tier, but every contribution is much appreciated.
