This tenth anniversary remixed version reveals an older wiser man looking back on the follies (and craic) of his youth

Based on a true story, this multi award winning theatrical musical comedy recounts the journey of an Irish fiddle player as he wanders across the globe encountering much craic and many musical genres with some trouble and strife in the mix, until he eventually finds sobriety (and jazz!) along the road.

But behind the laughs and music is the story of a man deep in the grip of alcoholism and drug abuse, and his eventual triumph against them. A mixture of traditional Irish storytelling, music and stand-up, de Staic enlivens his traveler’s tales with poetry and, according to where he is supposed to be in the world at any given moment, Irish, Italian, Greek and gypsy music, jazz violin and Australian convict songs.

This show gathered rave reviews from Edinburgh, Adelaide, Melbourne and Dunedin:

“Storytelling is one of the great Irish pastimes and de Staic is one of the best… a master fiddler, not only playing a vast repertoire of Irish tunes but a range of Italian, Greek and Gypsy music as well… a great night out with this amiable and warm hearted traveler.”- GlamAdelaide.com

“… exquisite, picaresque. Rarely has storytelling been so foot-tappingly funny.”- Nick Awde, Theatre Guide, London

“… his brilliant blend of classic Irish comedy and unique musical talent.”- Brendan McDonald, The Herald Sun

“…the lilting rhythms of his spoken word and the gritty but beguiling violin solos will carry you off”
– Debbie Manley

” the sense of joy and redemption expressed through his playing is quite moving…the man’s got talent and humour in abundance”- Malcolm Jack, The Scotsman
