Who is us? By Paul Doran and St Josephs Belfast
Who Is Us? is a thought-provoking exhibition that explores the future of humanity. Rooted in the rich narratives of young students from Belfast, the project becomes a platform for dialogue about an increasingly interconnected and ever-changing world. The artworks invite visitors to reflect on how we are shaped by personal stories as well as broader societal transformations. It challenges audiences to consider what connects us, what defines us, and ultimately, who “us” might be in the years ahead.
The exhibition features a selection of new works by Paul Doran, whose paintings reflect on memory, identity, and the shifting landscapes of belonging. These are shown alongside a collaboration with St. Joseph’s College in Belfast—where Doran once studied. Students and teacher have contributed original artworks, offering an intergenerational perspective that deepens the collective voice of the exhibition. Together, these pieces form a powerful narrative that weaves personal histories with community experiences and shared visions for the future.
“Who is Us” encourages audiences to reflect on fluid boundaries and imagine new possibilities for connection and belonging in the 21st century. While St. Joseph’s College Belfast artworks are not for sale, 100% of the proceeds from Doran’s pieces will be donated to Project Dandelion, a climate justice organisation founded by Mary Robinson, underscoring the exhibition’s commitment to building a more sustainable, inclusive, and just world.
