‘Your World’ Workshop

in association with Lady’s Who Punch and Mend & Make do

Doors 4.30pm

Starts 5pm

Free

The workshops will be facilitated by our Director Marian Brophy. The workshops allow participants to reflect on life in their world- the past, present and future-using a mix of games, play, story-telling and shared experience, with focus on one of three subjects (we advise you choose which subject you feel would best resonate with the group)

1. Possibilities-ideas and notions of internationalism introduced into Ireland in the 1960s
2. Uaigness (Irish word meaning loneliness). Some immigrants lived within Irish diaspora communities, but many experienced isolation. The grass was not always greener
3. Identity-adapting from one way of life to another; longing to belong in a new place, without losing your roots.

This workshop is suitable for any Irish generation – for those who left home at a young age, as well as second and third generation Irish – in fact we encourage people to bring their family members along.
