A night of incredible Hip/Hop and Rap from Irish and London based artists.

This day of talks from leading experts will provide an introduction to Irish-language literature from its beginnings to the present, covering a wide variety of themes and forms, from poetry to prose, from the tales of the legendary hero Fionn mac Cumhail to the twentieth-century experimental modernism of Flann O’Brien.

Róise & Frank has been a huge hit on the film festival circuit, winning numerous awards including ‘The Audience Awards’ at both the Sant Barbara and Sonoma Film Festivals.  Following the film there will be a live Q&A with half one of the writer/directors team, Rachael Moriarty.

Set in the bleak and beautiful wilds of Connemara, Foscadh (Shelter) tells the story of an unworldly recluse, 28-year-old John Cunliffe who is suddenly propelled into manhood when his over-protective parents pass away.

This film adaptation of the celebrated Irish-language novel ‘Cré na Cille’ (Graveyard Clay), was produced to commemorate the centenary of the birth of it’s author, Máirtín Ó Cadhain.

Clann Mhic Ruairí are an Irish folk/trad band. As a family they were raised on the Gaelic songs and stories of the ‘Rann na Feirste Gaeltacht’ in County Donegal, (Gaelic speaking area) in the North West corner of Ireland. Hearing their music gives the listener an insight into this rich culture which they continue to preserve.
