Dr. Strangely Strange

We are so proud to announce that the major Iconic Psychedelic Folk Band DOCTOR STRANGELY STRANGE will be having the UK launch of their new album “Anti-Inflamatory” here at the ICC

This Irish experimental folk group, formed in Dublin in 1967, by Tim Booth, and
Ivan Pawl are regarded as ‘one of the most magical folk (psych) rock groups of
the time’.

It’s been 38 years since these merry pranksters, purveyors of
psychedelic lounge music, issued a new album – and now here’s a rare chance
to see them launch “Anti-Inflamatory” live in London!!

Tim Booth and Ian Pawle started Doctor Strangely Strange in 1967, Tim
Goulding joined them a year later, with various other notables recruited along
the way. Notables like the man who would become the world’s legendary rock
guitarist Gary Moore and Gay Woods and Terry Woods (of ‘The Pogues’
fame), with a young Phil Lynott never that far away!

Performing in the band for this special concert will be Ivan Pawle, Tim Booth, Tim Goulding, Joe Thomas, Dan Sweeney and Niall Sweeney

Picture Dublin, 1967 while the rest of the world was learning to fly, Dr.
Strangely Strange was teaching Irish folk music how to levitate. These sonic
sorcerers caught the golden ear of Manager and Music Producer Joe Boyd, the
wizard, manager, producer behind The Incredible String Band, and suddenly
Celtic psychedelia wasn’t just possible—it was inevitable.

Their 1969 debut ‘Kip of the Serenes’ album served as a magic potion that transformed traditional folk into something genuinely otherworldly, creating music that felt both
ancient and futuristic. Many more hit albums followed, including their 1997 Alternative Medicine, proving you can’t keep a good doctor down! The BBC captured their live albums from “Think Like A Key Music -BBC Radio Sessions” – And now with this new album “Anti-Inflamatory” Doctor Strangely Strange proves that the good doctor can still dispense the perfect music medicine.
