Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin

We are looking forward to welcoming Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin to the ICC this November

Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin is a Dublin-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose musical roots are in the Connemara sean-nós singing tradition. A versatile performer, he draws on a variety of vocal techniques like lilting and throat singing, concertina playing that breathes with his singing, and a lifting flute style that all combine to create a rooted, expansive soundscape.
His songs have a storytelling quality to them, moving through themes of struggle, loss, resistance and healing, and carried by a powerful and resonant voice that ranges from the intimate to the elemental. Eoghan will be joined by Ian Kinsella (guitar) and Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz (cello).

Ian Kinsella

After working as a primary school teacher, Ian pursued music full-time, performing with fiddle player Aoife Kelly and All-Ireland champion Padraig O’Neill before forming a trio with Cillian Doheny (Moxie) and Michelle O’Brien (Providence). He has toured internationally with acts such as the Young Irelanders and Irish Celtic, sharing stages with Eamonn de Barra, Maitiú Ó Casaide, Sean Garvey, Dessie Kelliher, and John Francis Flynn. In 2021, Ian represented Ireland at the World Expo in Dubai with the National Concert Hall and performed with Gavin James on Electric Picnic’s main stage before 50,000 people.

A songwriter and member of Saltaire, alongside Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz and Conor Lyons (The Bonny Men), Ian is recording a new EP with producer Alex Borwick. He also performs with two-time RTÉ Folk Award winner Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin.

Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz

Originally from New York City and now based in Dublin, vocalist and cellist Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz is celebrated for her versatility across classical and folk genres. Trained under Vladimir Panteleyev at the Kaufman Center Young Artist Program, she has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Le Poisson Rouge, and Carnegie Hall. In Ireland, she has collaborated with Síle Denvir, Brí, Reylta, and RTÉ Folk Award winner Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, appearing at Other Voices, Quiet Lights, and Temple Bar TradFest. In 2021, she represented Ireland at the World Expo in Dubai and is a core member of alt-folk trio Saltaire with Conor Lyons and Ian Kinsella.
