John Buckley McQuaid – Troubadour, modern-day Irish Seanchaí, Bard, Poet, Storyteller and Singer Songwriter!

The Troubadour, modern-day Irish Seanchaí, Bard, Poet, Storyteller and Singer Songwriter John Buckley McQuaid presents his one man music & video show, based on his new album…

“This is Where I Keep My Dreams – Ireland Through Exiled Eyes”

His latest show “This Is Where I Keep My Dreams – Ireland Through Exiled Eyes” uses McQuaid’s songs and sublime video images to provide a critical and compassionate alternative view on the Emerald Isle, addressing such issues as The Magdalene Laundries, the Vulture Funds the Diaspora and Ireland’s Homeless Crisis,, to name but a few. The songs, which are drawn from his most recent albums, “This Is Where I Keep My Dreams”and“Be Yourself”, are based on his Irish roots, steeped in tradition with a generous portion of black humour.

About John Buckley McQuaid.

Born in Dublin and based in Denmark, John Buckley McQuaid has been a professional entertainer since 1979, performing at countless Theatres, Clubs, Libraries, Art Museums, Schools, Prisons and Festivals all over Europe. He’s a modern-day storyteller, poet and songwriter in the great bardic tradition. He’s a singer with a powerful voice, a writer of lyrics, songs and fairy tales, which he performs with passion and video backing, playing guitar and singing “live”, engaging and charming his audience with Celtic humour. Though his music and songwriting he aims to give a voice to the voiceless – speaking truth to power. John Buckley McQuaid was recently named musician of the month Dublin’s radical magazine ‘Cassandra’s Voices’. His other musical output includes “Stations In The Sky,” a fairy tale with songs, along with “Valentine’s Day,” an eBook of 29 songs and 29 videos. Aside from his music, he is a successful artist with 500 paintings to his name and is currently working on a film script set in Ireland. John Buckley McQuaid was recently interviewed by the global on-line magazine IrishCentral.
