Four Men and a Dog Special

18th February 2022, 12am

We are delighted to bring you this one-hour special of the phenomenal Irish Supergroup, Four Men And A Dog! Featuring five of Ireland’s most exhilarating musicians, including Ireland’s fore-most fiddler Cathal Hayden, ‘the God of the bodhran’ Gino Lupari, the wizard of the ‘box’ Donal Murphy, with the superb fiddler Stephen Hayden and the brilliant singer songwriter and guitarist Kevin Doherty! Four Men and A Dog are a major international ‘sell out’ stadium act, who blend vivacious high energy Irish ‘trad’ with rock, jazz, gypsy, blues, polka’s, county swing and even salsa!

Their live shows are a fast and infectious and in this film, directed by Sé Merry Doyle, you will see the band playing many of their greatest tracks at their recent sell-out concert, which took place at the ICC in November 2021, relaunching our live music programme after the pandemic lockdown.

Also featured in the film is a rare interview with #GinoLupari, who’s regarded as one of the greatest bodhran players in the world. Gino tells us about how #FourMenAndADog were formed and named. He shares with us some of their greatest moments – including playing live with the band and recording two albums in Levon Helm’s recording studio in Woodstock!
