Today in our ‘Artist’s Corner’ ICC Digital is delighted to bring you the third of six images by the talented Dublin based Street Photographer Eugene Finn. This immensely impressive image of a women smoking on Dublin’s famous ‘Henry Street’ reveals Finn’s unique and sensitive eye and his intuitive gift as a street photographer. The photograph is so rich in tone, that every line on her face speaks and conveys the history of her life, her street and the history of her city; her life and her city and her history is also so strongly engraved through her bones – and although this appears to be a ‘silent image’, just by looking upon it, we can almost begin to hear her deep, raw working class Dublin voice, her thoughts, all of her worries and the sounds of her city.
Over the next six week we will bring some of Finn’s images, which capture the real sense of working class Dublin and will give you a glimpse of its streets, the warmth of its people, and a city now in a changing time.
