Seán Keane – A Short Film

21st January 2022, 12am

ICC Digital is delighted to bring you this wonderful, heart-warming film, which captures magical moments of Ireland’s great singer Seán Keane performing live to a packed house at the ICC, in December 2021. Featuring a very rare interview with the Director of the film, Sé Merry Doyle, Seán speaks about his memories of growing up in a household in the West of Ireland, surrounded by traditional Irish music and song, and how by entering a competition at the age of seven, the path of Seán’s future was carved out for decades to come.

Those of you who have attended any of Seán’s intimate concerts at the ICC will know just how delightful, unforgettable and uplifting they always are. He is regarded throughout the world as one of Ireland’s greatest traditional singers, songwriters and musicians; described by “Q Magazine’ as the ‘distinctive voice of Ireland’,  he is a multi-platinum album seller, and a winner of the All Ireland Fleadh Cheol 13 times, but what’s so striking is, that with all of these accolades and many, many more, this film captures Sean’s absolute warmth and true humility as well as his sheer love for his land, his people and for Irish traditional music.

In this film Seán is accompanied by members of his band, Fergus Feely on Mandocello and Shane MacGowan on guitar.
