‘BRIDGE ACROSS THE SEA‘
An evening of story, music and song with ‘MAD FOR ROAD STORYTELLERS’
“Giorríonn beirt bóther,” as the saying goes in Irish –“Two shorten the road”. All travellers know that a story well told makes any journey more enjoyable.
In Feb’22, storytellers form all over the world, many from Ireland and the UK, made their way to Marrakech for the International Moroccan Storytelling Festival. After lockdown this gathering was a welcome celebration and sharing of cultures. It was a joyful crossing of paths and rich bonds were formed which lead to the ‘Mad for Road’ collective to be born. These diverse tellers not only continue to exchange a wealth of world stories online, they also set out to meet regularly in each other’s countries to share the best of their tales with live local audiences.
On 11th Nov. The Irish Cultural Centre will be the welcome crossroads where this amazing group will come together and share their ‘Bridge Across the Sea’ of stories.
