Saint Patrick Week Session – Tad Sargent

18th March 2021, 12am

Today we bring you the final short film in our Saint Patrick’s week series of five films, which were made by our in-house artists and tutors. This film comes from the ICC’s Bodhran, Bouzouki, and Guitar Tutor, Tad Sargent, who is, along with Fiddler Michael Sweeney, the key player in the ICC’s Friday night Irish music sessions.

From his lovely home in the rural countryside of England, Tad wishes all the viewers of ICC Digital a very happy and safe Saint Patrick’s – and he shares a short film clip, in which he is seen performing with the brilliant Fiddler Matt Tighe. The film clip was originally shot early last year to be part of a video which Tad and Matt were producing for the release of their new album, but when lockdown struck, the album was brought to a sudden halt. In the film, Tad and Matt play a new tune ‘Ally Pally’ and Tad sings his new song, ‘Don’t Let Them Bring You Down’.

When it is released in the near future, the new album will be produced by the great Brian McNeill (who plays with ‘The Battlefield Band’ and ‘Feast Of Fiddles’). We look forward to seeing Tad and Matt perform live on stage at the ICC one day very soon.
