ABOUT BARRY OWEN

Born in Ballynahinch Co. Down. Barry came to London in the early 80’s to study music at the London College of Music. Graduating with his teaching diploma, he spent 5 years teaching violin. Realising that teaching wasn’t for him, he started performing locally and then joined the top socialite function band, ‘The Chance Band‘, where he performed as lead singer and musical director for several years.

In the 90’s, Barry represented Ireland in many song contests, winning in many countries around the globe.

He then formed his own band which is currently the most sought-after function band on the Irish scene in the UK and Worldwide.

Barry has always wanted to perform an acoustic set of the songs he grew up with and the places he has been in his homeland,  hence the title of Barry’s unique special magical evening..
