To celebrate the opening of the exhibition of photography, “Through The Lens Of Franco Chen”, (here at the ICC, 12 Sept – 30 Oct), we bring you this delightful film, in which the photographer Franco Chen and the ICC’s Artistic Director, Rosalind Scanlon, gives you a sneak preview of Franco’s poignant and powerful exhibition. Regarded as one of London’s great portrait photographers, Franco’s exhibition includes wonderful images of many of the artists, actors and musicians who have performed here at the ICC over many years as well as images of local character in Hammersmith. Included in the show is an image of the ICC’s former Poet in Residence, the Late Niall McDevitt; a photograph of the award winning actor Frank Grimes; a sublime image of Ireland’s Master Fiddle Player and former music tutor here at the ICC, the Late Brendan Mulkere. There are also photos of Ireland’s legendary box player, Sharon Shannon, the great actor Tony Rohr, and an astounding image of the Scottish-Irish Poet, Eddie Linden. This film is directed and edited by Filmmaker Sé Merry Doyle.
