JP Cormier – Canadian Celtic Guitar Virtuoso

JP Cormier has been bringing his dazzling compositions and extraordinary finger-work to theatres and festivals across North America and overseas for over 30 years. He began playing guitar at the age of five and quickly became immersed in the rich musical heritage of his Cape Breton roots.

After moving to the USA for ten years, he performed many memorable nights at the Grand Ole Opry with artists including Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart and Earl Scruggs. From winning his first guitar contest at just nine years old, JP has since claimed thirteen East Coast Music Award trophies, five Music Nova Scotia Awards, a Canadian Folk Music Award and multiple Juno Award nominations.

As well as guitar, JP has played a wide range of instruments on his albums, including fiddle, upright bass, banjo, mandolin, drums, percussion, cello and piano. Now, 36 years after stepping on stage as a professional union musician for the first time at the age of 13, he is still going — and remarkably, still getting better.

Tim Edey – Anglo-Irish Master of Celtic & Traditional Guitar

Tim Edey is a double BBC Musician of the Year, BBC ALBA/Scotland Best Traditional Musician 2020, and BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year 2012.

He has toured the world and recorded with many of the leading names in Celtic and contemporary roots music, including The Chieftains, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Altan, Capercaillie, Lúnasa, Julie Fowlis, Mary Black, Frankie Gavin, Michael McGoldrick, Séamus Begley, Natalie MacMaster, and JP Cormier, among many others.

Originally from Broadstairs in Kent and of Irish descent, Tim honed his distinctive guitar style learning from his father Richard, a fine guitarist, and by listening to Ed Boyd, Steve Cooney and Django Reinhardt. He has lived in Ireland and now resides in Perthshire, Scotland, where he is based with his family while continuing to tour internationally.
